A Holy Desire to NEVER sin again!

We live in Perilous times, dangerous times and Perverse times!

 2Timothy 3:1-5 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:

For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

 

What a revelation those statements represent. Modern day Christianity in the United States of America is little short of Blasphemous and way past Lukewarm! You may say, “here he goes again on some Jesus freak rant about something that most care very little!” Very true, I might add! That is the problem. Most Christians in America today have long since forgotten what or who the Church is suppose to be and Represent! If Jesus Christ were here in the flesh, walking amongst us, He would get a “whip” and drive most Preachers from His pulpit and most “Christians” from the pews! Why? Because of the Lack of Holiness in their lives! So many professing Christians speak of their love for Jesus and then go about living ungodly, unholy, self-centered lives! They have not a holy desire to never sin again! Read through the passage of Scripture that was presented and see if what was said applies! Jesus Christ the Holy, Sinless, Only Begotten Son of the Living God has Redeemed us from our sins by His Blood to Live Holy and Righteous lives in the mist of an ungodly generation! To this end we Must strive Hard after Jesus through the Holy Spirit Power within! Which brings me to the question: do you have a holy desire NOT to sin?

 

The following is a passage of Scripture that speaks of the “holy desire not to sin” as I have proposed.

 

1John 3:4-9 “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.”

 

Are you lawless? Do you rebel against the law of God?

Do you know that Jesus appeared to “take away our sins” and in Jesus there is no sin?

Do you understand that Jesus took away our sins so we can Abide in Him? Do you understand Whoever Abides in Jesus does not sin, does not continue to sin nor remain in sin?

“ Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him (Jesus)!” Wow! What a statement! It deserves our attention! Do we know Jesus? Do we continue in sins? Do we trample His Blood under our feet by continuing to sin?

 

In other words, Romans 6:1-2 “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”

 

Well? Shall we continue to sin so Grace may abound? Well, God will forgive us, let us have a good time and live it up! Let us do as the world does! Let us think as the world does! God will forgive us! His Grace covers me so I can do as I please! WRONG!

 

Let us go back to the Passage in 1John. “Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He (Jesus) is righteous.” Right there we have an answer. We are to have a desire to do Righteously and Not wickedly! So, do you have a desire never to sin again? The question is not works on our part as it is about the Work of the Holy Spirit within us as Children of God! Do you practice righteousness? If so you are declared Righteous through following Jesus example of living Righteous! We have been Born Again through Faith in the Blood of Jesus shed on the Cross and are declared Righteous to God the Father because of the Work of Jesus. Do we continue in sins? No, to do Righteously as Jesus is Righteous! I Know we all fall short of the Glory of God. I Know we will from time to time fall into sin and we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous! Jesus is our Atonement! He is the Propitiation for our sins and the sins of the world! I also know it ought to break our hearts every time we do fall into sin! I also know we make many excuses and should never justify our sinfulness!

 

“Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” God’s seed is Jesus! The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and has been Given by Jesus to His followers! Because Christ Spirit dwells within we cannot sin!!! That is what the Bible says! What does that mean? The Holy Spirit Convinces us about sin! He Convicts us and empowers us to put away sins forever! That is why Jesus gave us His Spirit! Galatians 5:16 “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” It was said not to long ago that we should not use “we are human” as an excuse to remain in sin but we should walk in the Spirit to do Righteously”! If indeed you have the Spirit of Christ you will have a Holy desire to never sin again!

 

If you read to this point there is one other thing I would say. If you were convicted, the Holy Spirit tugging at your heart, then you need to repent! Change your way of thinking! Change your way of living! Seek His forgiveness and Mercy! Don’t let anyone tell you that no one can repent. Many say repentance is a one time deal, Hogwash! If God commands men everywhere to repent, then He has enabled them to do just that! Listen to the following; 2Timothy 2:19 ¶ “Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

 

When are we as believers in the Holy, Righteous, sinless Son of God going to quit making excuses for sinfulness and wickedness? 1Peter 1:13-16 ¶ “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

 

“For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.” 1 Thessalonians 1:7-8

 

Hebrews 12:14 “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:”

Why Repent?

If God……”2Peter 3:9 ¶ The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” is calling ALL men to Repent, to turn away from sin by turning to the Cross of Jesus, then God enables all the ability to REPENT….Quit making excuses for your sins! Let me bring in some other Scriptures to ponder!

 

Luke 13:1 ¶ There were present at that season some who told Him (Jesus) about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices……sounds wicked? Jesus responds—–>Luke 13:2 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
3 “I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish….

 

Luke 13:4 “Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? Wow…..Jesus responded——->Luke 13:5 “I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

 

Do we compare our sins with others in hopes ours will be lessened? Do you suppose that their sins are worse than yours?

 

Sounds like a horrific tragedy occurred when the tower fell on those 18 in Siloam. Do you think that is because they were more sinful than you? What about the tragedies that happen around us? School shootings, earthquakes, tsunamis, diseases etc. is because they are sinners and God is judging them because they are worse sinners than you?

 

What would Jesus say? “I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

 

There is no sin for which it is worth your while to be damned. -Spurgeon

 

So what is stopping you from admitting you are a sinner and turn away from the very thing that will destroy your soul? It is shocking to reflect that a change in the weather has more effect on some men than the dread alternative of heaven or hell.

 

There may be sin in your life which you will never speak to anyone, but there is no sin for which the Blood of Jesus can’t wash away! Repent for Kingdom of God is Near!

Transition from 2012 to 2013

As 2012 comes to a fast halt I was reminded of all the Good that God has poured out on me over the last 12 months.  Breath taking events that cause tears to well up inside of me because of the profound changes that has come my way. 

First and foremost is my Intimate Relationship with my Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.  I am more in Love with Jesus now that ever before.  He has Lavished His Love upon me way more than I deserve.  He has Touched me in such ways that I will forever be changed, which is a good thing, because Jesus never wants me or anyone seeking Him to go backwards.  His Calling on my life to Proclaim the Gospel, the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ,  has increased exponentially and His Fire of Holy Passion for the Lost and spiritually hungry has stretched my heart.  One example is the Word of God  “like Fire shut up in my bones” to the point of exploding!  It is my first and Primary Love in my life!  

The second glorious thing that has happened to me is also a Gift from the Father, my wife.  We celebrated our 1 year anniversary December 30th and I must say, wow, what a year.  My love for Jesus is now so intertwined with my love for my wife.  We are one.  Jesus, my wife and me.  It is  awesome what God has done for me as a reflection of His Love.  To explain how He designed the Holy Union between my wife and I must be in words that He showed me.  Everything in my life before my wife was centered around preaching and teaching the Word of God.  I was and still am Resolved to know Nothing but Jesus Christ Crucified and Resurrected.  This was all I was interested in doing.  I emptied myself and prayed for the Holy Spirit to consume me totally because there are so many around me perishing.  In this process of spiritual purging through fasting and prayer sometimes for weeks I was often preaching in my sleep.  Then when God “pressed” my wife into my heart I realized I have not experienced the fulness of Love.  Let me explain.  God’s Love is always enough and always fulfilling.  I was not seeking a wife.  The only thing is God wanted me to experience the Love of a Godly woman.  God told me that He was twisting my wife around the Word of God dwelling in my heart.  Very profound how this happened.  Everything I now preach and teach concerning Jesus Christ is linked directly to my relationship with my wife.  This is God’s design.  I have a deeper love for God and a deeper love for mankind now that God has given me a wife!  To add to this awesome year I now have 3 children with their spouses and 11 grandchildren.  Talk about God stretching a mans heart, wow!  

These 2 events has transformed my life during 2012.  I will forever be Thankful to God for His Marvelous Gift of Jesus Christ and my wife!  I am so looking forward to the coming year.  I am sure 2013 will be filled with challenges, trials and Goodness!  If I had a goal or resolution for 2013 it would be;  Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things.” All of which will be with the Help of the Holy Spirit and my wife!   My wife and I Pastor 2 Churches.  We have 2 worship services a week. Bible studies on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. All of which are streamed live through facebook and other web based programs like Twitter and youtube.   The Lord is using us to reach potentially thousands of people World-wide with His Transforming Message of Forgiveness and Eternal life through Faith in the Work of Jesus Christ!  Happy New Year!
