Scripture for consideration. Revelation 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm– neither hot nor cold– I am about to spit (vomit) you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.” Remember the Luke-warm church did not realize they were about to be vomited out of the mouth of Jesus because of their self centeredness, self righteousness and their lack of the True Christ centered mission of the Church. Does this sound like your church? Does your Church focus on the Person and Works of Jesus Christ? Is their always discussions about how to attract people to your Church? Christ never said He wanted His Church to be attractive, seeker friendly, comfortable, contemporary, old fashioned, people focused or modern. He gave this command for the Mission of His Church. Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Mark 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Luke 24:46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. John 20:21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” Ac 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” 9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

After the Church received the Holy Spirit to empower them to fulfil His Mission, the book of Acts records the Purpose of the Church. Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Now with the clear Mission and Purpose of the Church clearly manifested by these Scriptures, ask yourself with prayer and honesty; does the Church I go to seek to obey Christ, without compromise, or does it only seem to do its own thing? If your Church is seeking obedience to Christ through its teaching and Preaching, then follow Christ through that local congregation. If not, run as fast as you can away from that church because you may find yourself vomited out of the mouth of Jesus-the Head of the Church! It does not sound good to be vomited out of Christ body, does it?

Lies! Lies! Lies! Are you a liar? Do you excuse lies? Do you like it when someone lies to you? Well God doesn’t like lies either! How do I know that you may ask? Simple, just listen to what He says. “Proverb 6:16 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.” I know that some of you reading this will say that God doesn’t hate? WRONG!!! He HATES a lying tongue and false witness who pours out lies! Notice there are two of the seven in this list that deal with lying! Again God said “Exodus 20:16 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.” Is not God saying DON’T LIE? Yes He is! Some may say, “that’s the Old Testament and doesn’t apply to us today.” Really! Ok, let’s look at the New Testament. Matthew 15:19 Jesus said, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.” Oops, there it is again. False testimony is lying! How about this verse; 1John 2:21 “I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22 Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist– he denies the Father and the Son.” Still think lying is ok? You have lied to yourself if you think lying is ok as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone. Liar, liar, pants on fire! Remember that saying? Well according to the Word of the Lord, more than your pants will be on fire. Listen up, Revelation 21:8 “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars– their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” The human soul who continues to lie will have their soul on fire! Is this to condemn you? NO! Only to warn you if you about lying, or rather warn you of the consequences of lying. You and I have all lied at one time or another, unless you lie to yourself, then we need to do something about our lying tongue! Here is Good News. 1John 1:8 “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive (lie to) ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.” Lying is a sin and we need to stop! Look at how lies have destroyed some of our relationships. How about the lies from our Government? Do you like it when they lie to you? Jesus gave us a road map to lead us to the Truth, because He knows people will believe liars easier than the Truth. Here is the way out; John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 8:31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Jesus died on the Cross to pay the penalty for our sins, including our lies! Turn away from lies ad turn to the Truth and you shall be Free Indeed!!

A close friend ask me a question concerning Easter events at a Church she has been attending; This is what is being planned at Church for this weekend for the children…what do you think of this…that they are having our kids participate in a Jewish tradition? For the sake of teaching them how things were done in those days, I am not offended at that, but to mix Judaism with Christianity is mind boggling to me….not sure what to think…could you clarify? Answer – I have done many studies on the subject and see nothing wrong with sharing the customs of the Hebrews as long as it is used to clarify and point to Jesus as the fulfillment! The Seder dinner is an interesting Passover celebration as long as we understand the bitterness of our bondage to sin and how Jesus become sin for us and delivered us from that bondage on the Cross! The emphasis of Passover was to show God’s deliverance and He passed over the people who had the Lambs Blood on their door. We know that God doesn’t Passover (cover) our sins, but washes our sins away by the Blood, Lamb of God, Jesus! If they emphasize these points, Old fulfilled by the New, very good Bible lesson. Many people smarter than myself have shared their personal convictions about Easter eggs, Resurrection cookies and Easter egg hunts. I understand the need to reach youngsters with the Gospel Message but I just cannot imagine Jesus doing such things. Many Christians participate in such events but I am not to fond of such none sense. That is my conviction. In case you do not know why I feel so strong about even using the word Easter, I want to share. Here is the only Scripture that uses the word Easter. I am placing King James and New International version together to see the difference in the translations.
Ac 12:1 ¶ Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. {stretched…: or, began} (KJV)
1 It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. (NIV)
2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. (KJV)
2 He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword. (NIV)
3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) (KJV)
3 When he saw that this pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. (NIV)
4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. {Easter: Gr. Passover} {quaternions: a file of four soldiers} (KJV)
4 After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover. (NIV)
NIV has translated the word properly from the Greek. pascha is the Greek word meaning Passover. the Passover (the meal, the day, the festival or the special sacrifices connected with it). The Hebrew origin- pretermission, i.e. exemption; used only technically of the Jewish Passover (the festival or the victim):–passover (offering). – Easter—-Is improperly put for PASSOVER, Ac 12:4; Passover being the name of the ancient Jewish festival here referred to; while Easter, from the Saxon goddess Eostre, is the modern name of a Christian festival, in commemoration of the events of Passover-week, and fixed at the same period of the year. History–The name “Easter” originated with the names of an ancient Goddess and God. The Venerable Bede, (672-735 CE.) a Christian scholar, first asserted in his book De Ratione Temporum that Easter was named after Eostre (a.k.a. Eastre). She was the Great Mother Goddess of the Saxon people in Northern Europe. Similarly, the “Teutonic dawn goddess of fertility [was] known variously as Ostare, Ostara, Ostern, Eostra, Eostre, Eostur, Eastra, Eastur, Austron and Ausos.” 1 Her name was derived from the ancient word for spring: “eastre.” Similar Goddesses were known by other names in ancient cultures around the Mediterranean, and were celebrated in the springtime.
I cannot and will not ever mix the Passover and Resurrection of Jesus Christ with Paganism. Ignorance went a long way but not when God opened my eyes to this perversion! Isn’t that partly what is wrong with the Church today? Mixing Sacredness with Paganism? James 4:4 You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. I am of the opinion that we as Christians need to obey God’s Word as written and teach our children from what He says and not use the ways of this world to illustrate what He has said so clearly in His Word! Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God– this is your spiritual {1 Or } act of worship.
2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is– his good, pleasing and perfect will.” But as always you need to pray and seek God’s face concerning how to teach your children. I know it is hard but Jesus always honors humility and our desire to serve Him!

The Passion and Love of Jesus Christ expressed while paying your sin debt on the Cross! Give Him Praise! He is Worthy! He is ALIVE! “You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart!” He poured out His Life’s Blood to cover your sins? NO! NO! NO! He poured out His Life’s Blood, To WASH our sins AWAY!

Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, — which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Luke 23:34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

Luke 23:42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
43 Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Luke 23:46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.

John 19:26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Dear woman, here is your son,”
27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

John 19:28 Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.”

John 19:30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

The Poem
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees..
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease……
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They’d laugh at me I’d fear..
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
‘Your name I cannot find
I once was going to write it down…
But never found the time’

Don’t judge me! The Bible says we are not to judge! He who is without sin cast the first stone! These statements are Lies! Yes, I said Lies! Many who call themselves Christian have and do continue to believe lies. How, you may ask, do I know this? Because the Bible does not say these things, unless you take the Bible out of context. Read the Bible in context! Here are the examples: Mt 7:1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Jesus does say that and most Christians stop there. But now listen to the context. “Mt 7:3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Context changes everything does it not? Sure it does. The Bible judges when taken in context. Now we know we are to judge ourselves first by recognizing our own sins and shortcomings, then we can help our brother or sister with theirs. Do not judge self-righteously! Romans 2:3 So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? Next, look at this lie. John 8:3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?”
6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Jesus did say that, right? Here is the context. John 8:8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11 “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” Makes a big difference when you finish the context! Most do not like when Jesus says “leave your life of sin!” So if we call ourselves Christian we need to read the Bible in context and then obey what it truly says and not twist the words to justify ourselves! The Bible judges us. Listen to this. “Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are– yet was without sin.
16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
So the next time you find yourself or someone else speaking lies like; Don’t judge me, the Bible says we are not to judge, he who is without sin cast the first stone, we really need to deal with our walk with the Lord Jesus! Something to ponder.

1 I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!”

Jesus is the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world! Only Jesus is worthy to open the seven seals. Refer back to Revelation 5. Voice like thunder means they are loud and authoritative.

2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”
4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.
5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.
6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”
7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”
8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

The Four Horseman of Apocalypse Revelation 6:2-8
Rev. 6:2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
First Horse is White
Study of the Anti-christ in the book of Daniel 7-12 reveals he will be a politician who will rise to power in the Revised Roman Empire AKA European Union. The anti-christ will come into power through peaceful means, after that will seek to destroy anyone who will not give him devotion. Riding on a White horse is a mockery of Jesus riding on a White horse in Revelation 19. White horse symbolizes purity which Anti-christ is not. Remember he will appear to be pure, but will be evil. Also it is note worthy that the teaching of Islam points to their Messiah will be the rider on the white horse. Could it be that Muslims will be helping anti-christ to conquer? Also look at the founder of the Arab Nation, Ishmael in Genesis 16:11-12 The angel of the LORD also said to her: “You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.” Now where will this rider be going to conquer?
Cross reference Zechariah 6:1-8
Rider on white horse is going West, possible pointing to where Anti- Christ rises to power. Revised Roman Empire is west of Israel. This is where EU is centralized.

Rev. 6:4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.
Second Horse is Fiery Red
Rider will have power to take peace from the earth. To make men slay each other. (ie Ethnic war, religious war). Jesus said Nation will rise against Nation and kingdom against kingdom in Matthew 24 which will increase until Jesus returns.
Cross reference Zechariah 6:2 Zechariah does not tell which direction the Red horse will be heading. Could it be World Wide?

Rev. 6:5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.
Re 6:6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”
Third Horse is Black
Rider indicates something about economics.(ie rising food cost. Oil and wine indicates the wealthy will continue to prosper for a time).
Cross reference Zechariah 6:6 Black horse heads toward North Country. Due north of Israel is Russia. Economic collapse will be world wide. Which brings into focus the One World Economy. The anti-christ will control all financial transactions. See Revelation 13:15-17.

Rev. 6:8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
Fourth Horse is Pale(dapple green-sickly)
Riders name is Death and Hades follows with him. This horse goes toward the South. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Africa. All these South of Israel. These four Horsemen will have power over a fourth of the Earth. War, starvation, plagues such as Aids, west Nile virus, mad cow, and many others, are pestilence that come from the wild beasts of the Earth. The effects of these horse’s will be worldwide. All four horses are powerful, but only as God allows. Some say Christians will be gone before these riders are released. Some say that Christians will have to persevere. Regardless, we are to Trust in Jesus to provide for Christians. Remember Matthew 6:25-34 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Jesus is coming soon, so cling to Him and do not let go. Economic collapse, Food shortages, Disease, Earthquakes and Natural Disasters are increasing. It is a great comfort to read and pray for understanding concerning all the events taking place in the world. Luke 21:25-28 “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea, ie (Hurricanes). Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Lift up your heads (ie Be of good cheer) because our Redemption is drawing near and is at the door.

9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”
11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

The fifth seal, when it is opened, reveals souls of saints of old who were murdered because they refused to reject Jesus as their Savior. There has been millions through the years who lost their lives for Jesus sake! They hold a great testimony indeed. The sight the apostle beheld at the opening the fifth seal was very affecting. He saw the souls of the martyrs under the altar; at the foot of the altar in heaven, at the feet of Christ. Persecutors can only kill the body; after that there is no more they can do; the soul lives. God has provided a good place in the better world, for those who are faithful unto death. It is not their own death, but the sacrifice of Christ, that gives them entrance into heaven. The cause in which they suffered, was for the word of God; the best any man can lay down his life for; faith in God’s word, and the unshaken confession of that faith. They commit their cause to Him to whom vengeance belongs. The Lord is the comforter of his afflicted servants, and precious is their blood in his sight. As the measure of the sin of persecutors is filling up, so is the number of the persecuted, martyred servants of Christ. The Lord will certainly grant their request later in the Tribulation that has certainly started with the opening of the first four seals. As indicated in the eleventh verse the martyrs are given white robes that symbolize the purity that comes only through the Blood of Jesus. They are told to be patient until the rest of the believers, who will become martyrs, join them. Only the Lord knows which believers will be murdered during the Tribulation.

12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,

When the sixth seal is opened there will be an earthquake so great that is will cause so much dust that the Sun will not be able to penetrate. The Moon when it shines through the dust caused by this earthquake will look like blood. Some apply it altogether to the Jews, and that their destruction in Judea and at Jerusalem was so dismal, that it was represented to St. John as the darkening of the sun, and the moon looking like blood, and the stars falling, such calamities impending as if heaven and earth were dissolving: doubtless at and before the destruction of Jerusalem there was a confluence of such calamities, so dismal, and so dreadful, as can very difficultly be represented or described. Cross reference to this sixth seal; As Rev 6:4,6-8, the sword, famine, and pestilence, answer to Mt 24:6,7; Re 6:9,10, as to martyrdoms, answer to Mt 24:9,10; so this passage, Re 6:12,17, answers to Mt 24:29,30, “the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven; … then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming”; imagery describing the portents of the immediate coming of the day of the Lord. Also see Joel 2:10, 31.

13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.

Could this be referring to a meteor shower? There will be an Asteroid hit the Earth during the Tribulation. Revelation 8:10. This is the beginning of many Global disasters.

14 The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

This sounds like an Atomic bomb. Also the results of the other calamities befalling the Earth!

15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?”

After the opening of the Tribulation and the many billions of people dying from the results of the calamities described in this chapter people will still not repent of their sins. Instead of fleeing God’s wrath through the Death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus, people will be hiding in caves. What a cry of desperation when they pray that the mountains would fall on them to hide the face of God and the wrath of Jesus who is the Lamb. Listen to Psalm 2:9-12 You will rule them with an iron scepter; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.” Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

Psalm 2 A Prophecy concerning Jesus

1 Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One.
Why the question of conspiring and plotting in vain by the kings and people of the Earth? Simply the fallen nature of man. Everything the Creator did and is doing is for mankind’s benefit, but fallen kings and men want to control the Almighty. Sinful men and kings have always tried to manipulate their Creator; they rebel against His Love, Mercy and Grace. Now for the Truth; Jesus is the Anointed One! Matthew 16:13-17 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. Now the word Christ in Greek means Messiah or the Anointed One. Why do men plot against Him? One suggestion Matthew 4:17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” Men and kings of this Earth have always loved their sin more than the Savior! Jesus also said John 15:18 -25 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’

3 “Let us break their chains,” they say, “and throw off their fetters.”
Bishop Horne well remarks, “we may see the ground of opposition; namely, the unwillingness of rebellious nature to submit to the obligations of Divine laws, which cross the interests, and lay a restraint on the desires of men. Corrupt affections are the most inveterate enemies of Christ, and their language is, We will not have this man to reign over us. Doctrines would be readily believed if they involved in them no precepts; and the Church may be tolerated in the world if she will only give up her discipline.” Men of the world hate the Absolute Unchangeable Moral Law of a Holy God, namely the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20)

4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
Does God have a sense of humor? He is laughing in the Heavens at the absolute foulness of mans rebellion against His Anointed Son Jesus Christ! Satan and sinful men would love for their Creator to just die or somehow disappear. How funny it is to think that wicked men and Satan could overthrow the LORD God! The Lord shall scoff or have them in derision. These words spoken after the manner of men; shall utterly contemn their puny efforts; shall beat down their pride, assuage their malice, and confound their devices.

5 Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
Simply put God has always been hateful toward sin and wickedness. He is Holy and will not tolerate the malice of men who refuse to Repent and turn to His Son Jesus Christ!

6 “I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill.”
Zion is Israel and belongs to God Almighty. He gave this land to the Jewish people simply because Jesus is the Savior which came from the Jews. Jesus will Rule and Reign from Jerusalem for all Eternity!

7 I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father.
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You will rule them with an iron scepter; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”
Verses 7-9 will be totally fulfilled in the near future when Jesus Returns Revelation 19:11-15 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. All the wrath and punishment for mans sin was placed on Jesus Christ! We owed a debt we could not pay, Jesus paid a debt He did not owe.

10 Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth.
This verse is a warning of the coming wrath. All through the ages God Almighty has been warning people of His coming Wrath. So as you read this be warned and be Wise, Repent and Trust in Jesus’s Death on the Cross and Resurrection and you will be spared Of the Coming Wrath. Romans 5:8-9 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! Again John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.”

11 Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.
For those of us who have Repented, we rejoice with Reverence and Awe. The Bible testifies that even the Demons know there is but One God and they tremble or shudder and so should who flee from the Wrath to Come!
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
To kiss something or someone means simply devotion and adoration. Kiss Jesus the Son of the Living God for He is Worthy!! Does Jesus Christ have a Righteous Temper? Yes! Remember when Jesus came to Jerusalem to offer Himself as a Holy Sacrifice for man’s sin. Matthew 21:12-13 Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it a ‘den of robbers.'” It goes without saying that Jesus hates perversion. His Righteous Anger will be flaring up in the near future. Hebrews 10:26-27 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Again Hebrews 10:29-31 How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. The last part of this verse tells us who read that we will be blessed if we take Refuge in Him. Refuge literally means to flee to for protection! Wow, let us all who read this Psalm Repent of our sins and flee to the Divine Protection of Jesus.

The scriptures teach us to Honor your mom and dad…… what if your mom and dad are teaching you to tell “little white lies” like saying your 10 to get a cheaper buffet price or tell your teacher we had car trouble but really the kid was lazy and would not get out of bed. Things such as that? When you disagree with telling the lie, your parents get mad and tell you to do what they said. Or tell you ” a little white lie never hurt anyone”? You want to do what they said so you don’t get in to trouble, but you know it is wrong? First of all lets look at the sin of lying or bearing false witness. Scripture says Exodus 20:16 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 1. haughty eyes, 2. a lying tongue 3. hands that shed innocent blood 4. a heart that devises wicked schemes 5. feet that are quick to rush into evil 6. a false witness who pours out lies 7. and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers. John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars– their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” With these verses speaking for themselves let me ask a few questions. Do you know better than God? Do you like it when someone lies to you? What does a lie due to your credibility? Parents who have told by their youngsters by words or actions that it is ok to tell little white lies will answer for their deceit. I have had that very situation in my life many times. We have to get to the point in our lives where we can see the destructive power of lying and then stop justifying sinful behavior. God tells us plainly in His Word what will happen if we lie. Every time we lie or tell others it is ok to tell little lies it hardens our hearts. God has given everyone a conscience and the ability to tell the truth. Here is some help. Pray this; Proverb 30:8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. John 8:31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 2Th 2:9-12 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. I know from my own life that overcoming lying is very hard but is attainable. Just speak the truth even when are tempted to lie. John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Jesus is the Truth! Here is a prayer: Father you hate lies. I am a liar, and I want to stop lying. Give me the strength and Grace to overcome my lying tongue and to live by the Truth. In Jesus Name Amen!

The Shepherd Psalm 23

1 A psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

King David is the author of many psalms. David is known in scripture as; ‘I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’ Acts 13:22. We can learn so much from the testimony of David. Who is the Shepherd? 1Peter 2:25 For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls, Jesus Christ. What does a shepherd do? He watches over the flock. Christians are that flock! He protects, guides, nourishes, and saves them from death. Revelation 7:15-17 Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.
Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb (Jesus)at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” David was a shepherd and now testifies that the LORD is his Shepherd. In the Arms of Jesus we will not be in want. This phase cannot be taken out of context. Jesus never promised to give us what we want, He promised to give us what we need. Give us this day our daily bread. Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

Thinking about shepherding a flock of sheep, which Jesus indicates we are the sheep, He gives us rest and nourishment of green pastures. Quiet waters speaks of peace and serentity. Jesus is the Prince of Peace! Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Come to Jesus and you will find peace!

3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

O the restoration of the soul is priceless! Spiritual renewal is what Jesus the Good Shepherd is all about. Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. The path to Righteousness is the result of renewal. Jesus never leaves us just to the point of renewal, He guides us to be as He is, Holy. 1John 3:6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Jesus does this for His own Name sake. For the Father in Heaven wills that Romans 8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Fear not is the theme of those in Christ Jesus. The Shepherd always walks with us. Remember there can be no shadow unless there is Light! This Psalm is not about death it is about Life. If the LORD is for us, who can be against us? Don’t fear death for Jesus gives us Eternal Life. Don’t fear Satan for he is defeated in Jesus. As Jesus taught us to pray; deliver us from evil, or the Evil One. Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. He is with us and will never forsake us. A Shepherds rod is for discipline. When we need to be prodded, His rod is there. Hebrews 12:10-11 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Also the rod is for defense against all enemies. Psalm 2:9 You will rule them with an iron scepter; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.” The shepherds staff has a crook in it, why? Because sheep are so dumb they will walk right off a cliff unless the Shepherd pulls them to back to safety. Therefore we can take refuge in Him.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

The table at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb is being set as we speak. Revelation 19:7-9 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.) Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!'” And he added, “These are the true words of God.” The Enemies of God are many. Those that follow after the Good Shepherd are many. These enemies will watch the sheep of the Shepherd enjoy this supper. They will mourn, weep, gnash their teeth, and perish. Anointing with oil is a reference to the Awesome Holy Spirit. 1John 2:27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit– just as it has taught you, remain in him. Again John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Acts 2:3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. The head in this verse indicates knowledge. Cup of rejoicing is for those who know Jesus the Good Shepherd. Overflowing refers to our witness to unbelievers. Our Joy should be attractive to unbelievers. Psalm 104:4-5 He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate– bringing forth food from the earth: wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread that sustains his heart.

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. None of us our good on our own merits, but in Christ we have all goodness dwelling inside us. Love in this verse is referring to God’s Mercy. Ephesians 2:3-5 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions– it is by grace you have been saved. Salvation provided by the Good Shepherd follows us all the days of our lives no matter how long. Hebrews 13:5-6 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Can there be anything greater than assurance of Eternal Life? NO. Dwelling in the house of the LORD forever, John 14:1-6 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.”
