There is a burden upon my heart that I am compelled to share. Are you Reflecting the Holiness of God? Have you felt, yes felt, the Holy Spirit move in your heart lately? Do you have Intimacy with God your Creator daily? Does it bother you that some of your loved will burn in Hell unless they come to know Christ? Are you obedient to the Commands of Christ? Do you even care? Do you know God? Do you know Him, not just know about Him? If we as “Christians” are not motivated to do something for our Master Jesus Christ every day then I will say to your face you are out of step with the Living God and need to repent! Yes, turn from complacency or “Lukewarmness” and turn back to God through Jesus Christ! Revelation 3:15 “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm– neither hot nor cold– I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. 19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” Is your Love for Jesus stronger now than yesterday? He wants us to be filled with His Grace and Spirit. The problem usually is distractions. You know, TV, Sports, school, work, vacation….always draws us away from Him who died for us! Our Father in Heaven wants Intimacy with us! He wants us to know Him as well as we know our kids, spouse and friends! We spend time with those we love but what about the One who IS LOVE? Listen to why Jesus came to the Earth. John 17:20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” Do you Love Him? Do you know Him? Jesus told us that if we loved Him we would obey what He Commands! So are you walking obediently? Have you done anything in your life recently to bring Glory to Jesus Christ, that He may give that Glory to the Father who sent Him? Can you hear the Sweet Whisper of the Holy Spirit? Does your heart burn for Jesus? Listen and Focus your attention on this verse of Holy Scripture; Hebrews 12:2 “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” If you are growing weary and losing heart, it means you have taken your eyes off Jesus! Do not relax your mind! Do not harden your heart! Psalm 51:8 “Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. 9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. 10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you. 14 Save me from blood-guilt, O God, the God who saves me, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness. 15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. 16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.” I will close by sharing this thought from D.L. Moody “The Spirit of God first imparts love; he next inspires hope and then gives liberty; and that is about the last thing we have in many of our churches. Set yourself on fire and people will come just to watch you burn!”

What a day to be alive!  It is such a wonderful thing to Thank God for the manifold Blessings in my life.  So many times I fall short of Thanking Him for His Grace and Mercy.  Why Jesus came, is breathtaking at times because He took my Hell!  He drank Hell fire for my Redemption!  His Shed Blood on the Cross is the only focus of my life, for without that I would certainly go to Hell and eventually the Lake of Fire!  My concern is the Salvation, or the lack thereof, of all people with whom I come in contact!  My Calling is this blog, youtube, Tangle, blogspot, three websites and stickam. They are all focused on who Christ is and what He has done!  Is this a boast on my part? No way! Jesus is my life and I am simply trying to obedient to His Calling.  He desires that all men be Saved and come to the Knowledge of the Truth!   He tell’s you to Repent and believe in my works.  Love what I Love and hate what I hate! Cling to me and Find satisfaction for your soul!  Come to me and find Peace and rest for your soul!  This is what Jesus says and wants for everyone.  So what is the problem?  A great preacher of old once said, “It is shocking to reflect that a change in the weather has more effect on some men’s lives than the dread alternative of heaven or hell.” -Spurgeon   This quote is true in my experience as well.  Let’s talk weather, sports, work, sex, fishing, relationships and hunting, not Eternal things.  I am sure that God will lead many to this blog for His Good Purpose and I also know that no one who reads it will ever say they did not know the Truth about Jesus Christ!  What do you spend your time talking about?  Where do you spend your money?  What or who is the focus of your life?  Husband? Wife? Children? Work? You?  None of the above took your Hell my friends!  None of the above sweat great drops of blood for your sins!  None of the above can pay the debt you owe to your Creator!  Jesus is the only perfect sacrifice.  Jesus alone paid your debt and mine!  Give more time, money, energy and love to Him and the rest of your life will benefit greatly!  Continue to deny Him and remain in your sins and pay for your own debt when you die!  The choice is yours and only yours!  The decision you make will have Eternal consequences!  Not making a decision, by the way, is a decision! God the Father does not take Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express!  He only accepts His own Son’s Sacrifice!  Here are some quotes to try and convince you of your need of Jesus; “Hell is paved with good intentions. -Boswell “Don’t let scoffers laugh you into hell; they cannot laugh you out of it.” -D.L. Moody  “It would be easier to find a man that had not done any one sin that to find a man who had done it only once.  Sin multiplies.  We must either overcome sin, or it will overcome us.” -D.L. Moody “God hates the sin, but He loves the sinner.” -D.L. Moody “Is sin so luscious that you will burn in hell for it?” -Spurgeon
“There is no sin for which it is worth your while to be damned.” -Spurgeon  “Sin may open bright as the morning, but it will end dark as night.” -Talmage

“No sin is small.  It is against an infinite God, and may have consequences immeasurable.” –Jeremy Taylor
Do you not see your need of Jesus?  I pray you do!  Grieve your sinfulness and repent, that Jesus may come and Wash them all away!   Remember, Jesus took your Hell!

“Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God who made us.” Abraham Lincoln  Let us consider with humility what one of America’s most loved President said during our Nation’s civil war.  Let us also try and apply this statement to America today.  Can it be conceived, that after the passing of many years since that Great President spoke those words, how far this Nation has fallen from the God who has Created us and Blessed us as a Nation?  Intoxicated with self! The only word to describe the masses is Narcissism! The definition’s are as follows; 1. inordinate fascination with oneself; excessive self-love; vanity. 2.  erotic gratification derived from admiration of one’s own physical or mental attributes.  3. an exceptional interest in or admiration for oneself, esp one’s physical appearance 4. sexual satisfaction derived from contemplation of one’s own physical or mental endowments.  Most in America seem to be so self consumed to see their need of Redemption!  Their need of a Savior!  Their need of humility!  Their need of God’s Grace and Mercy!  The Bible speaks volumes about the Depravity of this Human condition.  God Created mankind with a Free choice.  “Choose Him and live or choose to go your own way and die!”  Hell is ever expanding and making room for mankind who’s choice is their own way!  Make no mistake about it, God does not want anyone to Perish in the Lake of Fire.  He wants all to come to the Knowledge of the His Son Jesus.  He wants all to see the futility of their own thinking and humble themselves!  He wants all mankind to Repent of Self!  No person can be saved without first being humbled and repentant.  Self Pride, Self centeredness, Self reliance, Self sufficiency, Self indulgence and Selfishness are self destroying!  Listen to this story that Jesus told concerning  this topic. Luke 18:9 “To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood up and prayed about {11 Or <to>} himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men— robbers, evildoers, adulterers– or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ 13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ 14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” So dear reading, where do you fit in this parable?  Have you humbled your self and ask God to have Mercy on you for Christ sake?  Have you not seen your sinfulness? Your Narcissism? Your Pride?  Do you not know that you need to Repent?  May God have Mercy on me a sinner should be the cry of your soul!  If we as Americans continue to be self sufficient and self consuming we will see America Self Destruct!  As Ronald Reagan once said, “If we are not a Nation under God, we will be a Nation gone under!”

1). How are you saved? Believers are saved by Grace through faith in the work of Jesus Christ. Death burial and Resurrection! Eph 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith– and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–
9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 1Co 15:2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. Galatians 1:7-8Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

2). Who is Jesus? Col 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. Col 2:9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,
10 and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. 100%man 100%God He is the Only begotten Son. Second person of the Godhead! John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

3). What is the Way to Heaven? John 14:5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Ac 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Jude 1:24 To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy–
25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

4). Do you know what God says concerning His Word? Pr 30:5 “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
6 Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar. 2Pe 1:20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation.
21 For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. Re 22:18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.
19 And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

5). What happens when you die? Re 20:15 If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Heb 9:27 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,
28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Mt 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’
23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.”

As Christians put away their Easter dresses, suits, baskets and other stuff, there is a war raging within the Church of Jesus Christ. This war has clearly defined lines of engagement. Most Christians are not even sure what they believe let alone why they believe. The war I am referring to is Authority. Do Christians have the authority to make their own choices concerning Church policies? Can the Church decide what sin is and what it is not? Can a Church pick and choose it’s own Moral standards? I want to share this short article dealing with the issue of sexuality and then make a few comments that will answer the previous questions offered for examination. This article comes from Christianpost.com
“Christianity Lite” is a new religion that presents itself as an updated and modernized Christianity. But the effort to reject Christianity’s understanding of biblical sexuality goes hand-in-hand with the rejection of an entire range of biblical doctrines. Nothing less will sustain their effort. You cannot leave a biblical conception of sin and salvation in place if you are determined to deny the sinfulness of a behavior condemned in the Bible. As Eberstadt concludes:
Christianity Lite has left enough evidence in its wake for us to judge the final outcome of that great experiment: It is a failure. The effort to throw out the unwanted bathwater of the sexual code has taken the baby-the rest of Christian practice and belief-along with it.

A project of theological revisionism is easy to start, but hard to stop. Like a spreading acid, theological liberalism moves from one doctrine to the next, developing patterns of argument that arise over and over again. It is no accident that the very churches and denominations now determined to ordain unrepentant homosexuals are the same churches and denominations that were determined to ordain women to the pastorate. The arguments used to get around, over, and under clear biblical teaching are the same. The Religion News Service report states that many pastors are now caught “between church law and civil law” on the issue of same-sex marriage. They are really caught between the Bible and sexual revolution. The choice for any true minister of the Gospel is clear.
Before long, we will see all too clearly just who will show up to represent Christianity, and who will show up to represent “Christianity Lite.”
Now to answer the previous questions. NO!! Churches do not have the authority to pick and choose what to believe and what is sin and what is right. Who’s Church is it anyway? It is Christ Church! His Word defines sin and salvation. He has the only Authority within His Body, the Church. If you go to a church that debates homosexuality or any sin defined by the Word of God than I would recommend that you leave immediately! Why? Because it is not Christ’s Church! Mt 16:13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” 14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, {16 Or ; also in verse 20} the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, {18 means } and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades {18 Or } will not overcome it. {18 Or } 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be {19 Or } bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be {19 Or } loosed in heaven.” Sounds like Jesus is defining His Church. The only Authority for Christian life and action must be obedience to clear Biblical teaching without debate. SIN is not up for debate in God’s eye! Salvation is not up for tweaking to fit our own desire! Any church that debates sinful issue’s is a church of the Damned! Ga 1:6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel–
7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!
9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned! 10 Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.” What is the True Gospel? 1Co 15:1 Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: {3 Or } that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” This is the Message of the Church of Jesus! It is offered to you and I and the whole world. The only requirement is REPENTANCE! You must turn away from sin and quit debating it! My prayer is that you will grieve your sinfulness and turn to Jesus for Grace and Mercy! Flee from the Wrath of God.

There is an old saying that will start the thought process of this paper. “Ignorance is Bliss.” This statement has some truth, except when dealing with your Eternal destination! The Truth is simple, there is life after death and ignorance of this Truth does not change its reality. Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, came to offer Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind. He did this to satisfy His Fathers Wrath concerning sinful man. Jesus is known as the Passover Lamb, holy, spotless and without defect (sin). He was offered up on the Alter of God’s Holy Throne as a sin offering. His Blood shed on the Cross satisfies His Fathers Holiness. God is offering a way for all of humanity to have their sins Washed away and declared Righteous before His Holiness if they Repent of their sins, that means turn away from your sins, and Trust what Jesus did on the Cross was payment for their sin debt! Hebrews 10:10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all 11 When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation. 12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. 14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! 15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance– now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.” If any human feels the weight of his own sin, feels the wrath of God upon them, grieves their sins, and even cry out, “I believe in Jesus”, can still end up in the Eternal Lake of Fire, why? REPENTANCE! Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, 20 and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you– even Jesus.” Without repentance there is no Salvation! Matthew 3:8 “Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.” Christ Jesus was Sacrificed for you on the Cross, so repent of your sins and believe in the Death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus! God does not except your ignorance, Master card, Visa or American express as a payment for your sin debt. Jesus is the Purpose of the Passover celebration! Let it never be forgotten that Jesus gives all that is needful for our salvation. It is highly important that all seekers after mercy should remember this. Faith is as much the gift of God as is the Savior upon whom that faith relies. Repentance of sin is as truly the work of grace as the making of an atonement by which sin is blotted out. Salvation, from first to last, is of grace alone. You will not misunderstand me. It is not the Holy Spirit who repents. He has never done anything for which He should repent. If He could repent, it would not meet the case; we must ourselves repent of our own sin, or we are not saved from its power. It is not the Lord Jesus Christ who repents. What should He repent of? We ourselves repent with the full consent of every faculty of our mind. The will, the affections, the emotions, all work together most heartily in the blessed act of repentance for sin; and yet at the back of all that is our personal act, there is a secret holy influence which melts the heart, gives contrition, and produces a complete change. The Spirit of God enlightens us to see what sin is, and thus makes it loathsome in our eyes. The Spirit of God also turns us toward holiness, makes us heartily to appreciate, love, and desire it, and thus gives us the impetus by which we are led onward from stage to stage of sanctification. The Spirit of God works in us to will and to do according to God’s good pleasure. To that good Spirit let us submit ourselves at once, that He may lead us to Jesus, who will freely give us the double benediction of repentance and remission, according to the riches of His grace. Have a Blessed and Crist centered Holy Week!

Lies! Lies! Lies! Are you a liar? Do you excuse lies? Do you like it when someone lies to you? Well God doesn’t like lies either! How do I know that you may ask? Simple, just listen to what He says. “Proverb 6:16 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.” I know that some of you reading this will say that God doesn’t hate? WRONG!!! He HATES a lying tongue and false witness who pours out lies! Notice there are two of the seven in this list that deal with lying! Again God said “Exodus 20:16 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.” Is not God saying DON’T LIE? Yes He is! Some may say, “that’s the Old Testament and doesn’t apply to us today.” Really! Ok, let’s look at the New Testament. Matthew 15:19 Jesus said, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.” Oops, there it is again. False testimony is lying! How about this verse; 1John 2:21 “I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22 Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist– he denies the Father and the Son.” Still think lying is ok? You have lied to yourself if you think lying is ok as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone. Liar, liar, pants on fire! Remember that saying? Well according to the Word of the Lord, more than your pants will be on fire. Listen up, Revelation 21:8 “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars– their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” The human soul who continues to lie will have their soul on fire! Is this to condemn you? NO! Only to warn you if you about lying, or rather warn you of the consequences of lying. You and I have all lied at one time or another, unless you lie to yourself, then we need to do something about our lying tongue! Here is Good News. 1John 1:8 “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive (lie to) ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.” Lying is a sin and we need to stop! Look at how lies have destroyed some of our relationships. How about the lies from our Government? Do you like it when they lie to you? Jesus gave us a road map to lead us to the Truth, because He knows people will believe liars easier than the Truth. Here is the way out; John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 8:31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Jesus died on the Cross to pay the penalty for our sins, including our lies! Turn away from lies ad turn to the Truth and you shall be Free Indeed!!

What is Faith?

Charles Spurgeon:
What is this faith concerning which it is said, “By grace are ye saved, through faith?”  There are many descriptions of faith; but almost all the definitions I have met with have made me understand it less than I did before I saw them.  I say it is better to have faith than to be able to explain it.  We may explain faith till nobody understands it. I hope I shall not be guilty of that fault. Faith is the simplest of all things, and perhaps because of its simplicity it is the more difficult to explain.
What is faith? It is made up of three things – knowledge, belief, and trust.  Knowledge comes first. “How shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?” I want to be informed of a fact before I can possibly believe it. “Faith cometh by hearing”; we must first hear, in order that we may know what is to be believed. “They that know thy name shall put their trust in thee.” A measure of knowledge is essential to faith; hence the importance of getting knowledge. “Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live.” Such was the word of the ancient prophet, and it is the word of the gospel still. Search the Scriptures and learn what the Holy Spirit teacheth concerning Christ and His salvation. Seek to know God: Hebrews 11:6  “For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” May the Holy Spirit give you the spirit of knowledge, and of the fear of the Lord! Know the gospel: know what the good news is, how it talks of free forgiveness, and of change of heart, of adoption into the family of God, and of countless other blessings. Know especially Christ Jesus the Son of God, the Saviour of men, united to us by His human nature, and yet one with God; and thus able to act as Mediator between God and man, able to lay His hand upon both, and to be the connecting link between the sinner and the Judge of all the earth. Endeavor to know more and more of Christ Jesus. Endeavor especially to know the doctrine of the sacrifice of Christ; for the point upon which saving faith mainly fixes itself is this – “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them.” Know that Jesus was “made a curse for us, as it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.” Drink deep of the doctrine of the substitutionary work of Christ; for therein lies the sweetest possible comfort to the guilty sons of men, since the Lord “made him to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Faith begins with knowledge.
The mind goes on to believe that these things are true. The soul believes that God is, and that He hears the cries of sincere hearts; that the gospel is from God; that justification by faith is the grand truth which God hath revealed in these last days by His Spirit more clearly than before. Then the heart believes that Jesus is verily and in truth our God and Saviour, the Redeemer of men, the Prophet, Priest, and King of His people. All this is accepted as sure truth, not to be called in question. I pray that you may at once come to this. Get firmly to believe that “the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s dear Son, cleanseth us from all sin”; that His sacrifice is complete and fully accepted of God on man’s behalf, so that he that believeth on Jesus is not condemned. Believe these truths as you believe any other statements; for the difference between common faith and saving faith lies mainly in the subjects upon which it is exercised. Believe the witness of God just as you believe the testimony of your own father or friend. “If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater.”
So far you have made an advance toward faith; only one more ingredient is needed to complete it, which is trust. Commit yourself to the merciful God; rest your hope on the gracious gospel; trust your soul on the dying and living Saviour; wash away your sins in the atoning blood; accept His perfect righteousness, and all is well. Trust is the lifeblood of faith; there is no saving faith without it. The Puritans were accustomed to explain faith by the word “recumbency.” It meant leaning upon a thing. Lean with all your weight upon Christ. It would be a better illustration still if I said, fall at full length, and lie on the Rock of Ages. Cast yourself upon Jesus; rest in Him; commit yourself to Him. That done, you have exercised saving faith. Faith is not a blind thing; for faith begins with knowledge. It is not a speculative thing; for faith believes facts of which it is sure. It is not an unpractical, dreamy thing; for faith trusts, and stakes its destiny upon the truth of revelation. That is one way of describing what faith is.
Let me try again. Faith is believing that Christ is what He is said to be, and that He will do what He has promised to do, and then to expect this of Him. The Scriptures speak of Jesus Christ as being God, God in human flesh; as being perfect in His character; as being made of a sin-offering on our behalf; as bearing our sins in His own body on the tree. The Scripture speaks of Him as having finished transgression, made an end of sin, and brought in everlasting righteousness. The sacred records further tell us that He “rose again from the dead,” that He “ever liveth to make intercession for us,” that He has gone up into the glory, and has taken possession of Heaven on the behalf of His people, and that He will shortly come again “to judge the world in righteousness, and his people with equity.” We are most firmly to believe that it is even so; for this is the testimony of God the Father when He said, “This is my beloved Son; hear ye him.” This also is testified by God the Holy Spirit; for the Spirit has borne witness to Christ, both in the inspired Word and by various miracles, and by His working in the hearts of men. We are to believe this testimony to be true.
There are, no doubt, many at this hour in Hell who understood the doctrine of faith, but did not believe. On the other hand, not one who has trusted in the Lord Jesus has ever been cast out, though he may never have been able intelligently to define his faith. Oh dear reader, receive the Lord Jesus into your soul, and you shall live forever! “He that believeth in Him hath everlasting life.”

As many Christians embark the paganism of Halloween, trying to bring the knowledge of Christ to worldlings, another more important event happened in History on this date, The Reformation! Many in the Christian communities do not even know what this event entails, let alone its importance to Christian theology. Here is a brief history if you find the desire to continue:
Reformation Day is an important liturgical festival that is celebrated by Lutherans and Christians of many Protestant denominations.  It commemorates Dr. Martin Luther’s posting of his Ninety-five Theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany on October 31, 1517.  This act triggered the movement in world history known as the Reformation.  While the historical date for the observance of Reformation is October 31st, most churches celebrate it on the last Sunday in October.
While it had profound and lasting impacts on the political, economic, social, literary, and artistic aspects of modern society, the Reformation was at its heart a religious movement.  The Reformation was the great rediscovery of the doctrine of justification, that is, the good news of salvation by grace through faith for Christ’s sake.
For centuries, the Roman Catholic Church had been plagued by false doctrines, superstition, ignorance, and corruption.  Since most ordinary Christians were illiterate and had little knowledge of the Bible, they relied on their clergy for religious instruction and guidance.  Tragically however, monks, priests, bishops, and even the popes in Rome taught unbiblical doctrines like purgatory and salvation through good works.  Spiritually earnest people tried to justify themselves by charitable works, pilgrimages, and all kinds of religious performances and devotions, but they were left wondering if they had done enough to appease God’s righteous anger and escape His punishment.  The truth of the gospel — the good news that God is loving and merciful, that He offers each and every one of us forgiveness and salvation not because of what we do, but because of what Christ has already done for us — was largely forgotten by both clergy and laity.  The Holy Spirit used an Augustinian monk and university professor named Martin Luther to restore the gospel to its rightful place as the cornerstone doctrine of Christianity.
Some Theologians say the Church is in need of another Reformation. It is the opinion of the one writing this that the Church doesn’t need Reformed but Renewed! The Church needs Revived and empowered by the means of Repentance!  The Church needs to stop entertaining sinners and start preaching and living the faith in the Person and Works of Jesus Christ. Salvation by Grace alone through Faith alone should be the catalyst by which Christianity thrives! Remember this event in the past as we reach lost souls for the sake of Jesus Christ!
