Consider this passage of Scripture and then ask if it applies to God’s people in America.  2Ch 7:13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.  God has said He would not be mocked and whatever a man sows that shall he also reap!  This Biblical principle is universal to everyone; whether you believe it or not does not change this Truth. Because we as a Nation has sowed wickedness and perversion we will and are reaping the fruit of wickedness! This passage is addressed to God’s people the Jews and also Christians.  God will always punish sin. Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord! Part of His Love is discipline. We have gone astray and need to repent and come back to the Lord when we see his judgement.  I am afraid most, even some reading this, will simply disregard this call to repentance. Could it be we are so proud we cannot even see the hand of God on America as the result of God’s people turning away from Him and turning to the ways of the World?  My friends; Hosea 10:12-14 Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers righteousness on you. But you have planted wickedness, you have reaped evil, you have eaten the fruit of deception. Because you have depended on your own strength and on your many warriors, the roar of battle will rise against your people, so that all your fortresses will be devastated! Join me in repenting and seeking the face of God concerning America instead of looking to Government to save us.

What does this mean; “However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” So many people in America say they have faith in Jesus Christ but if you listen to them closely and watch what they do you may discover their faith in the Son of God is really non existence! Too harsh, rash, judgmental and out of bounds for me to say that? I think not! Jesus made the statement and I and other true believers are fruit inspectors. People say they have faith in Jesus but let the economy go south and you will see clearly where their faith really rest, in man! Listen to what Jesus says “ Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” The Bible says we brought noting into this World and it is certain we can take nothing out of it, meaning we were broke when we were born and we will be broke when we die! It is better to have little wealth in this life and much in the next than vice versa. Wealth or money is not evil, but the love of money is very evil. Money is ok when used properly but faith is greater than all the money in the World!  Matthew 16:26 What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? Jesus just asked a question and it would do each of us great good to answer the question honestly. Will Jesus find any faith when He soon Returns? I pray you will have greater faith in Jesus than in the wealth of this World that is here today and gone tomorrow! Be Blessed in Jesus!

Great Day it is a hard thing to keep refreshed Spiritually! Paul the Apostle encourages young Timothy: 2Timothy 1:6-7 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. From this passage it appears that we must also fan the flame of the Holy Spirit. This is done as Paul explains by the Spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. Our Spiritual walk with Jesus depends upon our surrender to the Holy Spirit. Jesus said; Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.  We must have a hunger and a thirst. Our refreshing also comes from love and self-discipline. Jesus spoke to the Ephesian Church in Revelation 2 that they forgot their first love and they needed to repent and do the things they did at first. This indicates being busy with the ministry without regards to the first thing of importance; our intimate relationship with Jesus! Our intimacy with Jesus is to our spirit as wood is to fire. Without wood there is no fire, without intimacy with Jesus there is no refreshing! How do we fan the flame?  One important  way to fan the flame is meditating upon the Word of God and obeying what it says. Hosea 10:12  Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. The best way to plow up the ground of our hearts is the Living Word. This takes effort, time and self discipline. Here’s a question; do you need renewal? Do you feel your fire waning? Do you have a hunger and thirst for Jesus? A Hymn to remember; come to the Fountain so rich and sweet, cast thy poor soul at the Savior’s feet, plunge in today and be made Complete, Glory to His Name. Another is; Revive us again, fill each heart with thy Love, may each soul be rekindled with fire from above….Revive us again! Come Lord Jesus, Come Holy fire!!!

A question about Atheism versus Christianity.   In order to ask the question I must first define Atheism and Christianity. Definition of Atheism: 1. the doctrine or belief that there is no God.  2. disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings. Definition of Christianity: 1. a monotheistic system of beliefs and practices based on the Old Testament and the teachings of Jesus as embodied in the New Testament and emphasizing the role of Jesus as savior. Now both of these definitions contain the term belief (something believed; an opinion or conviction confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof: a statement unworthy of belief, confidence; faith; trust). Here is the question; how can anyone prove the existence of God or disprove the existence of God? It is faith either way. Atheist try to disprove the unprovable through their belief and True Christians just believe that God does exist.  Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. If Atheist believe God does not exist, why try to disprove His existence? If Christians believe God does exist, why try and prove His existence?  It is based upon faith! A known Atheist once made this statement about Christianity; “If Christians truly believe that there is a God and the consequence for not putting faith in Him(Jesus Christ) will lead you to Hell, it is Immoral for Christians not to Evangelize the World!” Still the question is how can an Atheist attack something they say does not exist? Does not a person have to believe, either for or against, in order to have a belief or faith? Just something to think about.

Great Day where is repentance in our sinful day! Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Do you not want peace and joy in your life? Do you not want happiness of your soul? Do you not care what happens to you when you breathe your last breath in this life?  To come back to the Scripture upon which we are meditating: both forgiveness and repentance flow from the same source, and are given by the same Saviour. The Lord Jesus in His glory bestows both upon the same persons. You are neither to find the remission nor the repentance elsewhere. Jesus has both ready, and He is prepared to bestow them now, and to bestow them most freely on all who will accept them at His hands. Let it never be forgotten that Jesus gives all that is needful for our salvation. It is highly important that all seekers after mercy should remember this. Faith is as much the gift of God as is the Saviour upon whom that faith relies. Repentance of sin is as truly the work of grace as the making of an atonement by which sin is blotted out. Salvation, from first to last, is of grace alone. You will not misunderstand me. It is not the Holy Spirit who repents. He has never done anything for which He should repent. If He could repent, it would not meet the case; we must ourselves repent of our own sin, or we are not saved from its power. It is not the Lord Jesus Christ who repents. What should He repent of? We ourselves repent with the full consent of every faculty of our mind. The will, the affections, the emotions, all work together most heartily in the blessed act of repentance for sin; and yet at the back of all that is our personal act, there is a secret holy influence which melts the heart, gives contrition, and produces a complete change. The Spirit of God enlightens us to see what sin is, and thus makes it loathsome in our eyes. The Spirit of God also turns us toward holiness, makes us heartily to appreciate, love, and desire it, and thus gives us the impetus by which we are led onward from stage to stage of sanctification. The Spirit of God works in us to will and to do according to God’s good pleasure. To that good Spirit let us submit ourselves at once, that He may lead us to Jesus, who will freely give us the double benediction of repentance and remission, according to the riches of His grace. “By grace are ye saved.”

BLESSED is he who appreciates what it is to love Jesus and who despises himself for the sake of Jesus. Hebrews 12:2,3 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Give up all other love for His, since He wishes to be loved alone above all things. Affection for creatures is deceitful and inconstant, but the love of Jesus is true and enduring. He who clings to a creature will fall with its frailty, but he who gives himself to Jesus will ever be strengthened. Love Him, then; keep Him as a friend. He will not leave you as others do, or let you suffer lasting death. Sometime, whether you will or not, you will have to part with everything. Cling, therefore, to Jesus in life and death; trust yourself to the glory of Him who alone can help you when all others fail. Your Beloved is such that He will not accept what belongs to another — He wants your heart for Himself alone, to be enthroned therein as King in His own right. If you but knew how to free yourself entirely from all creatures, Jesus would gladly dwell within you. You will find, apart from Him, that nearly all the trust you place in men is a total loss. Therefore, neither confide in nor depend upon a wind-shaken reed, for “all flesh is grass” and all its glory, like the flower of grass, will fade away. You will quickly be deceived if you look only to the outward appearance of men, and you will often be disappointed if you seek comfort and gain in them. “If, however, you seek Jesus in all things, you will surely find Him. Likewise, if you seek yourself, you will find yourself — to your own ruin. For the man who does not seek Jesus does himself much greater harm than the whole world and all his enemies could ever do.” Thomas E. Kempes

This is a simple story that illustrates salvation.
Six months ago Joe lost his job and was on the verge of going bankrupt. To make things worse he got a letter in the mail stating that he had hundreds of parking tickets that he never paid and he now owes the city $10,000 in fines and interest and this fine is not paid in 10 days the police will come and pick him up and take him to jail.
Joe panics! “Where on earth am I going to get $10,000 to pay this fine, I’m broke? ” Since Joe to have the money to pay the fine he waited for the police to come and pick him up. A week went. a month and years but no police.  Joe thought he got away with it or did he???  20 years went by and still no police. The next day he got a call from an old friend he hadn’t seen in 20 years and as they were talking his friend mentioned the $10,000 fine and said:
“Boy I bet you were thankful that you best friend Jim paid the $10,000 fine for you twenty years ago so you wouldn’t go to jail. Yea, he heard about your fine through someone else and knew that you were out of work so he went down to the court with HIS money and paid YOUR fine. He also put money into an account to pay for any FUTURE tickets you may have gotten. The court then CLOSED the case that was against you. He was going to tell you when he got home, but when he left the court building he got killed by a drunk driver.” Joe was dumbfounded. No wonder the police never came to take me away he said to himself. You see, Joe never knew that his friend Jim paid the fine for him with HIS money and because the fine was PAID the court dropped the case against him … FOREVER.  My Dear Friends. Isn’t his exactly what Jesus did for you when he paid the FINE for your sins? ABSOLUTELY!!! The FINE has been PAID. Case CLOSED on you. Amen and Amen!!!
